I have a friend who always dreams of people we used to know, sometimes she dreams they have died  or something happens to them in the dream and then she will text me to ask me is so and so ok, on one occasion the person she dreamt of, ended up being murdered.

I had a dream a few days ago in which i saw many people i knew from high school  ( although i didnt go to school with any of them, i hung around with most of them) who i haven't seen for 10-15 years, they were all sat round a table, some as i recall, were smartly dressed like a reunion or something. I spoke to one of them and he told me had a daughter, (the last time i saw him, he had two sons). Anyway, i saw this guy's brother in my local supermarket today and out of curiosity i asked him how his brother was and whether he had any more children, he said yes as a matter of fact he's got a daughter now as well!!

 The sceptics amongst you may think, due to the law of averages, that it is likely that someone who is settled and married may have more kids, and may have a daughter, but what are the chances of me dreaming about it,then seeing his brother a few days later to confirm it!

Sometimes we have dreams, that do not make any sense at all, we wonder what was the purpose, and more often than not, we wake up and think what just happened there? I think that was one of those dreams.

Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?

First 7" single i bought was A-ha even though i didnt have a record player:) in those days you could buy single songs on tape known as cassette singles!

First CD Single I bought was this one, I wasn't a fan, although i was into the genre, i just wanted to buy a CD as i had just bought a new midi-hifi system!

I am in the process of downloading my first mp3 track (yes i am way behind) but im not a big music fan anymore, if i do listen to something, it will be something from the 90's or 60's or something with an Islamic flavour.

What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day? 

I once slapped my younger brother when he beat me in chess (sore loser that i am), my older brother got hit by his teacher for being late because i forgot to tell her he had an appointment, oh and once my younger brother almost slit his wrists because i left a razorblade out, but hey i was a kid how am supposed to know? ( i don't feel guilty about any of the above, in fact the list could go on and on

My son likes to draw (and colour), but one thing that he has a habit of doing is drawing one picture in pencil and then going onto another without adding some colour to it! I end up then with 10 pieces of black and white artwork. Being a child (5) he has a wonderful active imagination, drawing robots, monsters and all sorts of creatures. Occasionally he will draw a character of a cartoon, this one is done for his uncle who is a spiderman fan - he asked me to send it to him so i thought i would post it on vox.

The main guy is sandman, on top of that is the green goblin, on the right is spiderman and venom is at the bottom right, when i asked him was that him on the bottom left, he said no, its just a man with a sad face :)

Last Night on Halloween at approximately 7.30 pm GMT all the lights and electricity in my house went off, and so did the whole street and the surrounding area, resulting in chaos and disruption as people's alarms went off, and the streets looked like scary ghost towns with cars driving around with no traffic lights or street lighting! We were on our way to see a firework display so there were quite a few people out and about, we eventually went to a relatives house until the power was restored an hour later. It reminded me of the Kurt Russell film, Escape from LA (or is it New York), when the character Snake at the end of the film, unplugs all electrical power (can't remember how he did it), and the whole world, was plunged into the dark ages, as everything we use relies on electricity!!

As I couldn't find a torch, i relied on my mobile phone and my son's Nintendo DS and his shoe (that his flashing lights) to find my way round the house! I then considered what would happen if the electricity wasnt restored til the next day, the food would go off, the kids would be too scared to go sleep and there would be no heating! I know this happens in many countries so we shouldn't complain, but it made me realise just how much we rely on electricity. Incidentally, my 5yr old thought the lights had gone off because it was Halloween (hes scared of the whole thing, the skeletons, scary costumes, the lot)
