What do you think is too serious to joke around about?
Well depends on who your talking to. My brother in law died on New Year's Eve and his brother was cracking jokes about the mortgage being paid off now (cos his brother had insurance), a few hours later.... that was his coping mechanism to use humour to deal with the grief.
Personally i do not like jokes about my religion, call me a fuddy duddy or whatever u want, but my deen (Islam) should not be mocked by those practising it. I dont mean people who are not Muslims can't poke fun because they do not understand, but those who make fun of the religion for no apparent reason. I also do not mean Muslim comedians, as some of them are real funny, they poke fun at the way people practise religion and their idiosyncrasies, they are not making fun of the religion itself. Again my brother in law (above) is guilty of this. May Allah help him and guide him.
Other than that you can laugh at whatever you want as long as its not me!
What do you do with the cards and letters you receive? Do you keep them all, just keep the photos, throw them away?
Inspired by jacolily.
It depends on who the cards are from. I have kept a few cards that have been made by my children, as they are lovely to look back on as they grow up, I know my mum has a card that my brother made her it must be at least 20years old!!
Letters are more special, handwritten before email was ever conceived! I dont have many handwritten letters, I try not to clutter my life with sentimental stuff, when i moved house i had to declutter due to the size of my house being very small:)

Were your holiday cards store bought, handmade, online, TBD or MIA?
As we are celebrating Eid, Eid cards can be bought ranging from the cheap and tacky to the beautiful (with arabic calligraphy) to the handmade (which can be a mixture of tacky and beautiful). As my friend makes them as a hobby with the proceeds going to a charity, i usually get my Eid cards from her, but to be honest I usually only send one out, to my best friend every Eid (Im still waiting very patiently, for her to send me one back, someday i hope)!
The kids usually make them for other family members if they can be bothered, this year they just wrote on a paper and drew a picture on the front, 2 minute job!!
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
First 7" single i bought was A-ha even though i didnt have a record player:) in those days you could buy single songs on tape known as cassette singles!
First CD Single I bought was this one, I wasn't a fan, although i was into the genre, i just wanted to buy a CD as i had just bought a new midi-hifi system!
I am in the process of downloading my first mp3 track (yes i am way behind) but im not a big music fan anymore, if i do listen to something, it will be something from the 90's or 60's or something with an Islamic flavour.
What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
I once slapped my younger brother when he beat me in chess (sore loser that i am), my older brother got hit by his teacher for being late because i forgot to tell her he had an appointment, oh and once my younger brother almost slit his wrists because i left a razorblade out, but hey i was a kid how am supposed to know? ( i don't feel guilty about any of the above, in fact the list could go on and on
What do you think about Ryan Seacrest being chosen to host tonight's Primetime Emmy Awards?
Frankly dear i don't give a damn. Whoever posted this question should get a life.Who cares? Hope you don't!
Where do you get recommendations for new books to read?
If its to do with law, then the teacher gives me a recommended book list or i ask former students, if its to do with books on Islam, i always read the blurb which tells u the background of the scholar where he was educated etc, and flick through it, if it has quotes from the qur'an and ahadith then i will buy it (subject to price of course!). I don't really have time for fiction anymore, and personally think its a total waste of time, i would rather read something that's gonna benefit me in the long run as most islamic books i choose to read are geared towards how to improve myself in some way or talk about issues which are relevant to me. Every Muslim should try to build up their islamic book collection but mine seems to stay the same as i lend people my books and lose track of who has got them (one thing that peeves me off is when people don't return the books you so kindly lent them until you ask them to)
i remember when i was at school i used to read a book a day, from teenage romances to sidney sheldon novels haha i wonder what happened to him - they were a good read but you could always guess the twist at the end!!
Reading is good for you though,, it keeps the brain cells going, i have enough practice of that reading cases for law, today i had to read loads of cases to do with money laundering!!
What would you attempt to do if you knew you could never fail?

Should driving while talking on a cell phone be outlawed?
Submitted by Soup.
It is outlawed in the UK, it is an offence to hold a mobile phone in your hand whilst driving (so texting is out) if u have a call you must park up and switch your engine OFF before answering the call but it dont make any difference as many people still take calls while driving.
i think its good that it is outlawed as many people (including myself) couldn't hold a phone in my hand while driving with the other u cant control the vehicle properly. Handsfree sets are not illiegal though (yet).
